The principle of operation of the X-ray spectrometer is based on irradiation of the sample with primary radiation from an X-ray tube, measurement of the intensity of secondary fluorescent radiation from the sample at wavelengths corresponding to the elements to be determined, and subsequent calculation of the mass fraction of these elements according to a pre-constructed calibration characteristic, which is the dependence of the content of the element to be determined on the measured intensity. Secondary fluorescent radiation is decomposed into a spectrum using a crystal analyzer. Due to this, the X-ray fluorescence spectrometer has a high resolution, and therefore the ability to accurately analyze complex multicomponent substances.

At the Scientific Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the technology of acousto-optic filtration of optical radiation is used to create a wide class of optical devices that are successfully used, for example, in biomedicine to diagnose various diseases (including oncology), in agriculture to diagnose the condition of plants, during non-destructive testing of complex technical objects and in solving other tasks. Acousto-optics has a number of important advantages over other technologies for obtaining spectral information: - the ability to create imaging devices without spatial scanning, since the acousto-optic filter is a software-controlled tunable light filter; - the compact modular design allows the acousto-optic filter to be integrated into the optical circuit of most imaging devices, which expands their analytical capabilities; - spectrum scanning is carried out by means of an electrical signal, without mechanical scanning; - fast arbitrary spectral addressing causes high shooting speed and the absence of redundant information; - software management. The key element of the presented device – an acousto–optic filter - is being developed at the Scientific Research Center of the UP RAS on the basis of original calculation methods. The manufacture of acousto-optic filters, optical and mechanical components, as well as the assembly, tuning, and calibration of such devices is also carried out at the Scientific Research Center of the UP RAS.

The working condition of the ND-1000 diffusion pump depends on the temperature of the working fluid in the pump boiler. During the initial filling, it is recommended to fill the maximum volume of the working fluid. The working fluid is "VACMA OIL 500" vacuum oil (under technical specifications TU 19.20.29-061-00218526-2019). The total amount of working fluid in the ND-1000 diffusion pump is a maximum of 23 liters, a minimum of 16 liters. The viewing window for visual inspection of the working fluid has marks of its maximum and minimum amounts. During normal operation of the pump, the level of the working fluid practically does not change. The temperature of the working fluid when the pump is operating at the maximum residual pressure is about 240°C to 255°C. It is recommended to monitor the operation of heaters in the ND-1000 diffusion pump using two temperature sensors. The temperature sensor must be installed in a special radiator socket above the heater. In the event that there is a loss of working fluid and an increase in the temperature of the radiators to 360 0C for the ND-1000 diffusion pump, the temperature sensor must give the command to automatically turn off the heaters. The subsequent activation of the pump heaters should not be automatic and should be performed only after cooling the system. Water at the inlet to the cooling systems of the housing and the oil reflector must be supplied with a pressure of 0.3 MPa (3 kgf/cm2) to 0.5 MPa (5 kgf/cm2) and a temperature of plus 4°C to plus 25°C. The recommended cooling water consumption for the housing is 1500 l/h, for the oil reflector 150 l / h and is regulated by the outlet water temperature, which should not exceed plus 40°C. The water drain should be free (with a jet break).
