External magnetizing devices included in the kit (solenoids, electromagnets, contact devices for connecting cables) allow for longitudinal, transverse and circular magnetization of the object under study. A special magnetic powder, dry or in the form of an emulsion, is applied to the controlled surface. Inhomogeneities of the magnetic field in the places of defects lead to the accumulation of powder particles, thus "showing" a hidden picture.
